Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 50 in Game 6 to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to their first championship in 50 years.

Scoreboard

Bucks 105, Suns 98 (MIL wins 4-2)

What went down

The buzzer sounded and Giannis didn't know what to do. Where does one go after reaching the pinnacle of his profession? What does one do after becoming the best?

His first instinct was to navigate the crowd to find his family. Just as he did a few moments ago against several Phoenix Suns defenders, Giannis towered and powered through the people gathering around him. He found his wife, his mom, and his brothers, and he shared a big hug with each of them.

All the while, Giannis still had a glazed look in his eyes – the type of look people in shock have. He put on a hat someone handed him, fell to his knees, then took a seat near the Bucks bench. The exhaustion and emotions Giannis felt were slowly cascading into an explosive moment.

Only then did Giannis scream. Finally, after 50 years, the Milwaukee Bucks are again NBA champions.

The Suns put up a great fight after dropping Game 5 in heartbreaking fashion. They traded buckets until Milwaukee just had one too many Khris Middleton clutch shots, one too many Bobby Portis moments.

Milwaukee was up for pretty much the entire second half thanks to a herculean effort from their Greek god. Though the score was always close, there was no way Giannis was letting this title slip from the Bucks.

Giannis did it for the franchise that took a chance on him, for the people of Milwaukee who've embraced him, for Khris Middleton, for Jrue Holiday, for the culture. It really was Bucks in six.

Big-time baller

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Game 6 performance will go down in history as one of the best close-out performances ever: 50 points on 16-for-25 shooting, 14 rebounds, and five blocks. He even went 17-for-19 from the free throw line, after averaging 62 percent on charities the entire playoffs. That's just the seventh 50-point game in finals history.

Call him a hooper, call him a basketball player, there’s just no denying what Giannis did in this series was freaky. He deserved the Finals MVP award.

What he said

Giannis may have been a little too happy during his Finals MVP acceptance interview, dropping two f-bombs. But there probably wasn’t a better way to express the overwhelming joy he felt.

Did you see that?

If you didn't love Giannis already, then all the stories about him that resurfaced during the Finals should make you fall for him. From his childhood selling toys in the streets of Athens to the government not recognizing his family as Greeks, there's a lot to unpack with Giannis. Here are some favorite anecdotes:

- The numerous times Milwaukee residents drove Giannis to the arena when he was just starting in the league.

- The time he made a little girl cry.

- This tweet from his first year in the league.
