The Sixers will aim to notch their fourth win in a row when they take on the Trail Blazers for the first time this season.

What’s up with the Philadelphia 76ers?

Philadelphia is obviously in great shape after scoring eight wins in their last 10 matches. Thanks to their impressive results, they were able to climb to third place in the Eastern Conference (28-16) and may very soon land in the second spot.

Joel Embiid has been giving teams problems, scoring 35 against the Lakers and then 41 against the Clippers. The big guy has been scoring 30 or more points in the last six games, continuing to show everyone why he is an MVP candidate this season.

James Harden’s play has also been a big factor in the team’s rise in the East. The 33-year-old star guard is having an excellent season, averaging 21.7 points, 11.1 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game. And on his off-nights, he can rely on other talented scorers like Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris to shoulder the load.

What’s up with the Portland Trail Blazers?

When you have a reliable guard like Damian Lillard in the lineup, it’s difficult to understand why the team isn’t winning games.

The Trail Blazers are having a rough time getting back on track as they’ve lost six of their last eight games, most recently to the red-hot Nuggets in a 113-122 road loss on Tuesday. Lillard was everywhere with 44 points and eight assists. He’s been sensational all season but the Blazers’ woes continue.

With Lillard at the forefront, the inexperience of the team is easily masked. During their struggles, it has been evident that most of the young players are still adjusting to the level of play that Coach Chauncey Billups is aiming for.

Prediction

Lillard is going to have his way against just about every team in the NBA, and the 76ers are no different. However, Philly has Embiid who has been unstoppable lately.

We can give this matchup to Philly as they may keep the ball rolling on their West Coast trip.
