What we like about the Celtics
After an upsetting loss in the NBA Finals, the Celtics have gone 8-3 to start the season and are first in the Atlantic Division and third in the entire Eastern Conference. They've taken down formidable opponents such as the Sixers, Heat, Bulls, and Grizzlies.
The offseason drama concerning head coach Ime Udoka and the injury to Robert Williams III hasn't fazed them at all as they head into the Nuggets matchup riding a four-game winning streak.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown continue to carry the offensive load for Boston. Tatum has come out of the gates hot with 31.2 points, 6.9 boards, 4.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game. Brown, meanwhile, is averaging 25.4 points and 6.7 rebounds.
The Celtics are No. 1 in the league in offensive rating (117.6) so let's see if they can get it going against Denver on Saturday.
What we like about the Nuggets
Like the Celtics, the Nuggets have also won four games in a row. They also hold an 8-3 record and are fourth in the Western Conference.
Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic continues to be the backbone of Denver's offense by averaging a near triple-double (21.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 9.0 assists) every game.
Fortunately for Jokic, this season, he has plenty of help on offense. Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray are healthy and capable of providing the scoring punch when Jokic doesn't get it going (which rarely happens). Having the two back and the addition of shooter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope give the Nuggets more options to work with.
The Nuggets are shooting a league-leading 50 percent from the field and 42 percent from downtown. They also love to share the rock as they average 28.8 assists as a team, good for second in the NBA.
