All 30 NBA teams will be in action tomorrow in a massive 15-game slate. It’s going to be a jam-packed schedule because there will be no games the following day due to the upcoming elections in the United States.
There are a number of games to choose from but here are some of the matchups worth keeping an eye on:
The Bucks go for win number 10
Bucks vs Hawks, at 9:15 AM on NBA League Pass
The Milwaukee Bucks have been the best team to start the season with their immaculate 9-0 record. Impressively, they’ve done this without their other star Khris Middleton. But credit the Bucks who have been destroying opponents on both ends, especially on the defensive side of things.
Having Brook Lopez start the season as opposed to last year when he was coming off an injury has been a huge plus. The Bucks have that strong inside presence so the perimeter defenders can run guys off the 3-point line. As a result, they have the highest defensive rating (100.6), while limiting the opponents to a league-best 101.1 points. Of course, it also helps that Giannis Antetokoumpo has looked superhuman this season.
On the other side, the new-look Hawks have looked extremely formidable. Trae Young is putting up 28.2 points and 9.4 assists while recently acquired Dejounte Murray looks comfortable with his numbers of 22.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 2.4 steals.
The Hawks and Bucks met more than a week ago where Antetokounmpo’s 34-point, 17-rebound performance paved the way for a 123-115 victory. It was an exciting battle as fans were also treated to a 42-point explosion from Young.
Ja takes on Jayson and Jaylen
Celtics vs Grizzlies, at 10:00 AM on NBA League Pass
Young stars collide as the Boston Celtics visit the Memphis Grizzlies. Boston’s dynamic duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum will look to bring their A-game against last year’s Most Improved Player Ja Morant of Memphis.
The Celtics have won their last two games, including a milestone-setting victory over the New York Knicks. They hit a franchise-record 27 3-pointers in a 133-118 decision in the historic Madison Square Garden. Tatum is scoring 30.3 points while Brown is right behind with 25.3 per contest.
For Memphis, Morant remains the headliner with his athletic drives and high-flying acrobatics. But there could be a new Most Improved Player contender in Desmond Bane who’s been scoring in bunches. He’s been registering career numbers across the board in his third year in the league.
Expect a ton of scoring and highlight plays when the Celtics visit the Grizzlies.
Kyrie-less Nets take on Luka
Nets vs Mavericks at 10:45 AM on NBA TV Philippines
The Brooklyn Nets have had a rough week following the departure of coach Steve Nash and the suspension of Kyrie Irving. Despite all the raucous, the Nets have won back-to-back games led by their transcendent star Kevin Durant.
The spotlight in Brooklyn has been magnified ten-fold and it seems that will be the case moving forward. What will the team be like when Kyrie returns? Will Ben Simmons regain his old form? Will KD put up MVP numbers? How will new interim coach Jacque Vaughn right the ship? Will Ime Udoka really come in as the new head coach?
There are a ton of questions surrounding the Nets but they will look ahead and face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Luka magic is alive and well as the young superstar has scored at least 30 points in his first eight games to start the season. Though the Mavs have been up and down so far, there’s no denying that Doncic is playing at an MVP level. The 23-year-old is averaging 36.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.6 assists so far.
Durant and Doncic will bring the fireworks in this titanic matchup.
