The season-series tie-breaker is at stake, with each team having won on its home court earlier this season.

Every game carries more weight than the last as the playoffs draw near. Looking at the team standings in the West, it is a traffic jam from the fourth seed to all the way to the 12th seed. In tomorrow’s set of games, we zero in on a particular matchup in the West.

The Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks face off at 7:30 AM on NBA TV Philippines.

These two squads met in last year’s Western Conference Finals with the Warriors winning in five games before capturing the title. However, this season has not been kind to either squad.

The Warriors are walking on a tightrope as the sixth seed, sporting a 37-36 record. Their struggles have stemmed from their abysmal 8-29 record away from home. Fortunately for them, they actually recently snapped an 11-game road skid with a very important win in Houston. Steph Curry had 30 points and was backstopped by Klay Thompson who had 29.

On the other corner, the Mavericks are coming off a 112-108 loss against the Memphis Grizzlies. They own a 36-36 card and are tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder who are coming off an important victory over the LA Clippers.

The big concern for Dallas is whether or not its superstars will suit up. Luka Doncic, who has missed the last five games because of an injured left thigh, is listed as questionable versus the Warriors. Kyrie Irving recently returned from dealing with a toe injury to score 28 points against the Grizzlies but seemed to have reaggravated the injury after. Like Doncic, he is also listed as questionable.

Despite the lack of star power on the side of the Mavericks, the game is extremely important because whoever wins will have the season-series tie-breaker. The Mavericks won the first meeting, 116-113, before the Warriors came back to earn a 119-113 victory in February.

With roughly 10 regular-season games left for every team, the competition is just about to pick up.
