Dwight Howard has just found his place in the Orlando Magic's lore of excellence.

Howard is set to be the newest member of the franchise's Hall of Fame, becoming just the 13th athlete ever to be inducted.

“Dwight Howard left an undeniable imprint on the history of the Orlando Magic,” CEO Alex Martins said in a statement.

“Dwight’s work helped us achieve great success during his eight seasons in a Magic uniform, both on the court and in the community. ” he added.

Howard joined Shaquille O’Neal, Rich DeVos, Penny Hardaway, Jimmy Hewitt, Tracy McGrady, David Steele, Darrell Armstrong, John Gabriel, Brian Hill and Dennis Scott as the only players to be inducted in the Magic Hall of Fame.

Selected as the top overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Howard spent his first eight seasons with Orlando and emerged as one of the most dominant two-way players of his era.

He led the Magic to the 2009 Finals — their first title appearance since 1995 — on top of winning three straight Defensive Player of the Year awards, earning All-NBA First Team selections in five straight seasons and multiple All-Defensive Team nods.

Howard averaged 18.4 points, 13 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 621 career regular season games with Orlando.

After leaving the Magic, the 2008 Slam Dunk champion suited up for Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Philadelphia 76ers.

It was during his first tenure with the Purple and Gold in the 2019-2020 season where Howard won his first and only title.

Earlier, the 39-year-old was among the 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame finalists.
