Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell provided a gritty performance on Christmas Day, leading the Jazz to victory over Dallas, scoring 33 points despite apparent physical discomfort. The source of that was revealed as a left low back strain, with Utah listing Mitchell out of Tuesday’s (PHT) game in San Antonio.
The two-time All-Star, averaging 25.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists, will stay home for the entirety of the upcoming two-game trip; the team informed local reporters that Mitchell would also be sidelined for Thursday’s (PHT) game at Portland. The Jazz return home for a New Year’s Eve matchup with the Timberwolves.
