Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings passed Kevin Love for the longest double-double streak since 1967-77.

Domantas Sabonis finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Sacrmento Kings' 108-96 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

This Sacramento King has made history.

Domantas Sabonis on Wednesday (Philippine time) became the consecutive double-doubles league leader in the NBA's modern era, after tallying his 54th straight double-double.

This became official when Sabonis made a putback in the Kings' third quarter home game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Kings' 108-96 victory.

Sabonis effectively passed Kevin Love for the longest such streak in the modern era.

Love last tallied 53 straight such performances from November 22, 2010 to March 11, 2011.

Love was quick to give his flowers to the new king. Don't forget, this is also Sabonis' 25th triple-double of the season.

There is no current NBA player who was alive the last time a player had a double-double streak longer than Sabonis.

This is the longest single-season consecutive double-double streak since the merger.
