NBA legend and former Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is in the Philippines to attend the upcoming draw for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, which will take place at 7:30 PM on Saturday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Nowtizki, who arrived in Manila on Thursday, will grace the event as a representative of the German federation. The future Hall of Famer is a Central Board Member and the Chair of the FIBA Players’ Commission.
Also expected to grace the ceremonies is Luis Scola, who is one of the global ambassadors of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 along with Pau Gasol and Carmelo Anthony.
Local ambassadors Catriona Gray and LA Tenorio from the Philippines, Takehiko Orimo from Japan, and Raffi Ahmad from Indonesia will also participate in the draw.
There will also be performances from global hip-hop artist Saweetie and local entertainers, such as Sarah Geronimo and Billy Crawford.
