Cade Cunningham came alive in the second half as the Detroit Pistons extended their season — at least for one more game — after toppling the New York Knicks in a Game 5 thriller.

With their season on the line, Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons simply refused to surrender.

Cunningham erupted for 20 of his 24 points in the second half as the Pistons held on to beat the New York Knicks in Game 5, 106-103, cutting the series deficit to 3-2, on Wednesday (PH time), April 30.

Game 6 returns to Detroit on Friday (PH time), May 2.

After Dennis Schroder earned a split from the free throw line, OG Anunoby hit a crticial triple to cut the Pistons’ lead at 104-103 with six seconds left in regulation.

Cunningham then sank two freebies to make it a 106-103 game as New York missed two free throws in the next possession, paving the way for a pulsating Detroit victory.

The 25-year-old added eight rebounds and eight assists and overcame a poor 6-for-17 shooting and five turnovers.

Amen Thompson added 22 points and seven rebounds while Tobias Harris chipped in 17 markers and four blocks.

Meanwhile, OG Anunoby took the scoring cudgles for New York with a team-high 19 points.

Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 17 markers each, but the Knicks travel to the road anew and will try to close out the Pistons in their second attempt.
