Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard defended his title by edging out Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns, 26-24, winning the 2024 Starry 3-Point Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend.
With the victory, Lillard became the first player to repeat as 3-point champion since 2007-08, when Jason Kapono also won two in a row.

In the first round, Young set the tone with 26 points, at one point making eight in a row, including all his shots from the moneyball rack.

Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton looked like he was going to beat Young's score of 26, but his last shot was off and he finished with 26 in his first attempt as well.

2022 champion Karl-Anthony Towns tied Haliburton and Young with 26 points.

Malik Beasley Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, and Lauri Markkanen were unable to reach 26 and were cut out from the next round. Lillard managed his 26 to make it a four-way race.

The tiebreak was set to only 30 seconds each, with Young scoring 15 points while Lillard and Towns scored 16 apiece. Haliburton scored 12 points and was eliminated.

In the final round, KAT and Trae scored 24 each, and Lillard got to keep his title after firing 26 points for the win.
