Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard will miss at least the next three games because of a nagging abdominal injury. Per the Blazers, Lillard will undergo further evaluation and consultation concerning his lower abdominal tendinopathy.
Lillard will be reevaluated next week and will not play against the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Sacramento Kings. He first missed Tuesday’s (PHT) 136-131 win against Atlanta for injury management reasons and dealt with an abdominal injury from Nov. 30 to Dec. 12, missing five games during that span. He also dealt with a lower abdominal injury early in 2021.
This season, Lillard is averaging 24.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game, ranking 11th in the NBA in scoring and 10th in assists. The Blazers are 14-22 and No. 12 in the Western Conference, but are just 4 1/2 games out of the No. 5 or No. 6 spots.
