Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will take on Napheesa Collier and the defending champion Minnesota Lynx as the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup title game is set for Wednesday (PH time), July 2.

It marks a fresh Finals matchup for the Lynx, who faced the Liberty in both last year’s Cup and the 2024 WNBA Finals. This time, they’ll battle the upstart Fever, who edged out New York in a tiebreaker to represent the East.

FEVER, CHAMPION LYNX MEET IN COMMISSIONER’S CUP FINALS

  • Indiana Fever (6-5) def. Connecticut Sun (2-9), 88-71: Caitlin Clark tallied 20 points, six assists, and four three-pointers to help the Fever clinch their first-ever Commissioner’s Cup Finals berth after dismantling the Sun at home.

Kelsey Mitchell added 17 points, while Natasha Howard posted a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double as Indiana edged the New York Liberty to earn the right to represent the  Eastern Conference in the midseason tournament.

  • Minnesota Lynx (11-1) def. Las Vegas Aces (5-6), 76-62: The defending Commissioner’s Cup champions Lynx secured back-to-back Finals appearances with a convincing 14-point rout of the Aces.

Courtney Williams led the way with 20 points as Minnesota sets up a showdown with Caitlin Clark and the Fever, aiming to become the first team to win consecutive titles in the mid-season tournament.

  • New York Liberty (10-1) def. Atlanta Brave (8-4), 86-81: Sabrina Ionescu exploded in 34 points for her second straight 30-point outing, fueling a gutsy 17-point Liberty comeback in their final Commissioner’s Cup game.

It marked the first time in her career that Ionescu recorded back-to-back 30-point performances. Despite matching the Fever’s 4-1 record, New York missed out on the championship game after falling to Indiana in their lone Cup matchup.

  • Dallas Wings (2-11) def. Golden State Valkyries (5-6), 80-71: Paige Bueckers delivered her third 20-point game as a rookie, leading the Wings to snap a seven-game skid at the expense of the Valkyries.

With her former college coach Geno Auriemma watching from the sidelines, Bueckers put on a show and became the second-fastest rookie in WNBA history to reach at least 150 points and 50 assists.

  • Washington Mystics (5-7) def. Chicago Sky (3-8), 79-72: Thanks to Brittney Sykes’ 32-point outburst, the Mystics overcame a 12-point halftime deficit to deny the Sky on the road.
  • Seattle Storm (7-5) def. LA Sparks (4-9), 98-67: Gabby Williams set a franchise record with eight steals — just two shy of the WNBA’s single-game mark — as the Storm cruised to a commanding 31-point shellacking of the Sparks.

Seattle closed out Commissioner’s Cup play at 4-2, while the Sparks dropped to 2-4 and have now lost seven of their last 10 games.
