For the seventh straight season, there will be new NBA champions.

The New York Knicks made sure of that.

A balanced Knicks attack was enough to put away the Boston Celtics in Game 6, 119-81, ending a 25-year Eastern Conference Finals drought on Saturday (PH time), May 17.

Jalen Brunson fired 23 points, Karl-Anthony Towns registered a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double while OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges chipped in 23 and 12 markers, respectively.

Josh Hart tallied 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists to become the first Knick player to put up a playoff triple-double since Walt Frazier accomplished the feat in 1972.

Up next for New York are the fourth-seeded Indiana Pacers as Game 1 of their series tips off Thursday (PH time), May 22.

New York bucked down on defense to limit Boston to just 17 points in the second frame, while also turning up the jets on offense to build a comfortable 64-37 halftime lead.

From that point, it was all Knicks the rest of the way on their way to claiming their largest playoff win in franchise history.

Meanwhile, Boston’s quest to become the first repeat champions since the Golden State Warriors (2017, 2018) met a deflating end.

Reigning Finals MVP Jaylen Brown topscored the Celtics with 20 points before fouling out with 2:54 seconds left in the third frame.

Jayson Tatum suffering a season-ending ruptured Achilles injury marked the beginning of the end for Boston despite staving off elimination in Game 5.

Payton Pritchard and Al Horford combined for 21 points as the Celtics failed to reach the East Finals for the first time in four years.
