The Boston Celtics won their eighth-straight game after taking down the New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden, 116-102, behind Jaylen Brown’s 30 points and Kristaps Porzingis’ 22 points.
Jayson Tatum tallied 19 points and Derrick White contributed 13 for the Celtics, who maintain the league’s best record at 45-12.

Jalen Brunson had a game-high 34 points on 12-for-25 shooting from the field for the Knicks. Josh Hart scored 16 points, alongside eight rebounds and six assists.

Brown, Tatum, and Porzingis sparked a 30-11 run in the first half which made it difficult for the guys from New York to rally back to.
Still, the Knicks made a push with Isaiah Hartenstein draining two free throws to cut down the deficit to 61-67, but Porzingis and Tatum’s back-to-back 3-pointers helped Boston restore order.

In the fourth. the Celtics took advantage of three Knicks turnovers and six missed shots to go on a 10-0 run, taking a 109-90 lead with less than five minutes left to put the game away for good.

What he said

At this point, the Celtics are just streamrolling past their opponents with the Knicks the latest team to get swept in the season series among potential East contenders.

Despite having the NBA's best record, Brown is more focused on maintaining competitiveness in the postseason.

"When it comes down to the playoffs none of that really matters.”
