Two East contenders continue to trend in opposite directions to open the new NBA season.

Cleveland’s dream start is still on as the Cavaliers scored a sensational 114-113 win against the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday (PHL) on the road.

Down one, Cleveland turned to Donovan Mitchell and the star guard responded with the game-winning jumpshot.

Mitchell actually initially lost control of his dribble, but recovered in time to drill the clutch shot over Gary Trent Jr.

The win pushed the Cavaliers to a 7-0 record, which is one win away from matching their best start in franchise history.

Six Cavaliers were in double figures, led by 30 from Mitchell.

Sam Merrill added 17 points off the bench, while Jarrett Allen (15 points, 12 rebounds), and Darius Garland (11 points, 10 assists) each had a double-double for Cleveland.

The Bucks got 41 points from Damian Lillard, and another 34 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo.

However, Milwaukee has lost five straight, the team’s only win coming from its season-opener.
