For the first time in more than a decade, Basketball Without Borders returned to Singapore — and the message from NBA Head of International Basketball Operations Troy Justice was clear.
“Bringing Basketball Without Borders back to Singapore reflects our commitment to growing the game in the country and across Asia-Pacific,” Justice said in a press release as the opening day of the 15th BWB Asia Camp wrapped up.
He added: “This year’s camp is particularly special, as it coincides with our new basketball and entertainment festival and the NBA Rising Stars Invitational, our first regional high school basketball tournament.”
Held at the Singapore Basketball Centre, the four-day basketball clinic features 30 boys and 30 girls aged 17 and under from 17 countries and territories. The event is part of a multiday festival that will culminate with the NBA Rising Stars Invitational from June 25 to 29.
Rob Celiz and Zaydhen Rosano of National University Nazareth School, along with Paul Barcelona of Bacolod Tay Tung High School, were selected to represent the Philippines in one of the most prestigious global youth basketball camps.

Campers took part in on-court drills focused on defense, pick-and-roll execution, finishing, and perimeter shooting before competing in full five-on-five scrimmages.
The day concluded with a player panel featuring NBA and WNBA stars, including Boston Celtics guard and 2024 champion Derrick White, Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey, Portland Trail Blazers center Duop Reath, and WNBA legend Ticha Penicheiro.
BWB coaches also include NBA assistants Jared Dudley (Mavericks), Ronald Nored (Hawks), Vinay Bhavnani (Raptors), and Khalid Robinson (Warriors), with Patrick Hunt of the World Association of Basketball Coaches serving as camp director.
