Breanna Stewart poured a team-high 19 points, Jonquel Jones tallied a third straight double-double, and the Liberty rolled to their eighth straight win behind a 79-71 decision over the cellar-dweller Dallas Wings.

Stewart offset a rough shooting night (5/18 FGs) by making a living in the charity stripe (9/11 FTs) along with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. Jones put up 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Liberty, who repeat over the Wings for the second time in three days.

Rookie Leonie Fiebich and Kayla Thornton chipped in 16 points apiece in a game where neither time led by double digits and also featured five ties and 10 lead changes.

The playoff-bound New York (25-4) now braces for a must-see clash with the Connecticut (20-7) in a battle of the top two teams on Sunday, August 25 (PH Time).
It was a close encounter in the final frame as the Wings even took the upper hand, 56-55, courtesy of a Arike Ogunbowale three-point play with 6:57 seconds left.
The Liberty quickly regained the lead at 57-56 thanks to a Jones lay off Stewart’s nice pass with 6:15 ticks left and New York kept Dallas at bay for the rest of the way to improve to a league-best 14-1 home record.
Ogunbowale paced the Wings with 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds to pace the Wings while Natasha Howard put up 16 points, eight rebounds but committed half of Dallas' 14 turnovers before fouling out.
Teaira McCowan tallied 13 of her 14 points in the second half to go along with eight boards as Satou Sabally pitched in 10 markers.
The Wings now lost three in a row and six of their last seven and will face the struggling Los Angeles Sparks on Monday, August 26 (PH Time).
