Bradley Beal’s time in Phoenix may be nearing an expensive and unceremonious end.
The Suns and the three-time All-Star are reportedly discussing a buyout of the final two years and $110 million of his five-year, $251 million contract, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

The potential move would sever ties less than two full seasons after Beal arrived in the Valley as part of a star-studded core expected to contend for a title.
Beal holds a rare no-trade clause, making any potential deal difficult. And with few teams willing to absorb his salary — especially given his injury history, which has limited him to an average of just 52 games over the last six seasons — Phoenix’s options have been limited.

A buyout would make the 32-year-old a free agent and allow the Suns to stretch the remaining salary over five years, similar to what the Milwaukee Bucks did with Damian Lillard earlier this week.

Beal joined the Suns in June 2023 after averaging over 30 points in back-to-back seasons with Washington. But he wasn’t quite the same version when he arrived in Phoenix.

In two injury-troubled years with the team, he averaged 17.6 points on 41% shooting from deep and played 53 games in each season.
Despite Phoenix featuring a “Big Three” of Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker, the team never made it past the second round of the playoffs and missed the postseason altogether last season.
Beal’s possible exit would signal another major shift in Phoenix’s roster construction, with Devin Booker the last remaining member of what once looked like a superteam on paper — following the reported deal that sent Durant to the Houston Rockets last June.
