Bennedict Mathurin made 25 points, four assists, and three rebounds for the Pacers.
Small forward Bennedict Mathurin carried a lot of the workload for the Indiana Pacers on Friday, Philippine time, as he racked up 25 big points to lead the Pacers against the Sacramento Kings. He also finished with four assists, three rebounds, and two blocks including a bigtime chasedown.

Indiana and Sacramento both entered the match coming from losing streaks. The Kings obviously had an advantage though since the Pacers had four bodies down, including their top scorer, All-Star Tyrese Haliburton.

While the Kings' top scorers remained consistent, the Pacers took control of the pace and built a 70-57 lead by halftime. Sacramento was able to trim down Indiana’s lead late in the fourth, with Kevin Huerter catching fire and hitting seven straight points.

With only 32 seconds left in the clock, De’Aaron Fox missed the possible game-tying three, while Malik Monk got the offensive rebound and was fouled and sent to the line.

Monk missed both free throws.

T.J. McConnell also stepped up for the Pacers with his 20 points and 10 assists. Myles Turn helped out with 18 points, while Jalen Smith chipped in 17 markers and 13 boards.

Huerter finished with a career-high 31 points, while Murray had 27 points in the Sacramento loss. Domantas Sabonis recorded another triple-double with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Indiana improved to 24-17, tying with Miami for sixth to seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Sacramento dropped 23-18 and is ranked seventh in the West, just behind Dallas.

Expect more from Indy as newly acquired Pascal Siakam started getting the work in after the trade from the Toronto Raptors.
