Minnesota is the first to make the second round of these 2024 NBA Playoffs, completing a round-1 sweep of the Suns after a 122-116 Game 4 win in Phoenix Monday (PHL).
The Timberwolves advance to the second round for the first time in two decades, or since the 2003-04 team that also made the Western Conference Finals after winning 58 games.
Anthony Edwards scored 40 points to lead the Timberwolves, including 31 in a complete second-half takeover.

By the fourth quarter, ANT was in total control for Minnesota. His poster dunk on Kevin Durant with 2:11 left put the Wolves up four, and they were never really truly threatened after.

Karl-Anthony Towns added 28 points for Minnesota, who now await the winner in the series between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers.
A bit of a downer in the Timberwolves win is coach Chris Finch going down with an apparent injury late, after he collided with Mike Conley after a foul.
Devin Booker paced the Suns with 49 points, while Kevin Durant added 33.
In the other Playoff game of the day, the New York Knicks took a 3-1 lead over the Philadelphia 76ers after a close 97-92 win.
Jalen Brunson fired a career playoff-high 47 points, as the Knicks return to New York with a chance to close out the series.
Reigning MVP Joel Embiid finished with 27 for the 76ers, but only had one point in the fourth quarter.
