Filipino fans are again in anticipation of the NBA All-Star Game. The 2023 edition of the midseason spectacle will take place in Salt Lake City, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the first All-Star Game the Utah Jazz hosted in 1993.
This is a chance for NBA fans to show their fandom and exercise their power to help push their favorite players into the exhibition game. Here are a few things you should know about the 2023 All-Star Game and the voting process.
When did voting start?
The NBA All-Star voting started almost a month ago and will run until Jan. 22 Manila time.
When will the All-Star rosters be revealed?
The reveal of the All-Star starters will be made on Jan. 27 Manila time, while the reserves will be announced on Feb. 3. Each conference's top vote-getter will be named as team captain and draft their players of choice from the remaining 22 players. It will be the sixth straight season in which the All-Star Game uses a "draft" format.
Where can I vote?
Fans can vote on NBA.com and on the NBA app, which is available on the App Store and Google Play.
How can I vote via the NBA app?
To vote using the app, tap the NBA All-Star Voting icon to open the ballot. Fill out your ballot on a virtual court by choosing 3 frontcourt players and 2 guards from each conference. Tap the "+" icon to select players filtered by position and conference. After you’ve finished making your picks, tap "Submit" then enter the requested information. Review your ballot, tap "Submit", and then you’re done. You can then share your picks on social media.
Should I only vote for players with the best stats?
You can vote for any player! It's up to you who you want to see play in the All-Star Game. Some local social media pages have even shown their support for Filipino-Americans Jordan Clarkson of the Jazz and Jalen Green of the Rockets. It's totally up to you!
