Memphis had a nine-point lead with 49 seconds left but Malik Beasley’s back-to-back 3-pointers got the Bucks within 113-110 with 29.2 left in the game clock.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 35 points and 12 assists, his 43rd double-double of the season. He managed to take over in the second quarter, with 10 points - hitting all five of his shots - and handing out four assists.
Damian Lillard, meanwhile, finished with 24 points and seven assists while Bobby Portis added 15 points.
The two teams were deadlocked by halftime but Memphis was getting ahead from time to time. Giannis and his aggressive drives to the basket were too much for the Grizzlies’ frontline, making it difficult to maintain and extend the lead any further.
In the middle of the fourth quarter, Milwaukee came back and gained a lead, but the Grizzlies answered through clutch buckets from Vince Williams Jr., Jackson, and Ziaire Williams to seal the win.
The Grizzlies improve to 20-36 as 13th in the West, while the Bucks stay 35-21 as third in the East.
