James and Davis took over down the stretch over the still Embiid-less Sixers.

LeBron James came alive in the fourth and finished with 20 points, Anthony Davis had a near 20-20 game, and the Los Angeles Lakers survived an error-prone game to hack out a 101-94 win over the Philadelphia 76ers for back-to-back wins Saturday (PHL) at the Crypto.com Arena.

James started slow with just nine points in the first three quarters, but heated up when it mattered the most behind a 11-point fourth period, including a booming three with 2:11 to go that put the Lakers up nine. LeBron also finished with eight rebounds and six assists, despite committing eight turnovers.

Los Angeles trailed by two at halftime, and was still down one entering the fourth. But AD backed up LeBron in a strong fourth-quarter push, scoring nine points himself to go along with four rebounds and two huge blocks down the stretch.

The Lakers found a way to win despite committing 21 turnovers and had a 13-1 disadvantage in steals. However, they outshot the Sixers beyond the arc (12-8) and out rebounded Philly (54-42) behind 19 boards from Davis.

Tyrese Maxey led the way for the 76ers with 27 points, including 22 in the second half, while Kelly Oubre Jr. added 19 and the returning Tobias Harris had 16 markers and 13 rebounds. Philadelphia is now 0-2 in its four-game West Coast trip.

With the win and a Warriors loss to the Indiana Pacers earlier, Los Angeles (38-32) widened the gap from Golden State (36-33) for the West’s no. 9 seed. However, the Lakers are still three games back from the no. 6 seed.

Lost in the rough game was D'Angelo Russell setting the Lakers' franchise record for most three-pointers made in a season. He was tied with Nick Van Exel entering the game with 183. DLo shot 4/10 from deep to take the record.

On the other hand, the Sixers (38-32) continue to slide in the East, now occupying the 8th spot with their superstar Joel Embiid’s return still unclear.
