Even as Kyle Kuzma is in the middle of his tour around Asia, he remains focused and set on his lofty NBA goals.

While there’s still a couple of months left before the start of the new NBA season, players and fans alike are all buzzing with anticipation.

Among those looking forward to the NBA grind is Kuzma, who has ambitious goals with the Washington Wizards.

Entering his fourth season in Washington, Kuzma remains hopeful to replicate the success he enjoyed with the Los Angeles Lakers. That means winning a championship.

And as a key figure in the Wizards’ lineup, any potential Washington title has to start with him.

“I really love the direction that we’re in right now,” Kuzma stated during his visit in Manila, his confidence palpable with the Wizards.

Kuzma’s faith in his teammates is commendable as he praised their character and commitment to the game.

“I love everybody on our team. I think we really have high-character guys. Talking about Sarr, talk about Bilal, talk about JP. All these guys love basketball,” he added.

For Kuzma, the excitement comes from being around individuals who not only share a passion for basketball but also care deeply about how they are perceived in the basketball world.

An advocate for collective growth, he expressed, “My goal is to just make others better. I think I’ve had back-to-back career [years]. But I wanna help somebody else have a career [year]. Help somebody else get better–improve, and I think that’s the true sign of greatness in a player–if you bring other people with you.”

Kuzma’s lofty goals will be met with great challenge, especially considering the Wizards went 15-67 last year.

But this early in the pre-season, Kuzma’s eyes are already set on the Playoffs, a milestone Kuzma believes is attainable for the Wizards.

“I mean that’s the goal. As long as we continue to build. We fall in line as a team and cohesively do that. I think anything can happen you know,” he said.

Kuzma reflects on the recent trend in the NBA where a new champion emerges nearly every year. Starting in 2019, the NBA has crowned a new champion in each of the last six seasons.

Why can’t the Wizards be the seventh new champ in seven seasons?

“There’s always a team or a couple of teams that are better than you think so you know, why can’t it be us?” he muses, fueling hope and belief among fans and teammates.

Kyle Kuzma’s leadership and optimism are something to look forward to, setting a positive tone for the Wizards as they gear up for the upcoming season.

With a focus on improvement, teamwork, and a little bit of magic, Kuzma and the Wizards might just be the surprise package the NBA community never saw coming.
